Laboratoire de Physique Théorique de la Matière Condensée

Application Deadline: 20 March 2024

The CNRS is recruiting a tenure-track position (called CPJ for junior professor chair) in Condensed Matter Theory and Quantum Information, named TheMaCoIF. The position aims to support developments at this interface by recruiting a theoretical physicist either studying condensed matter implementations of quantum information subjects, or using quantum information tools and concepts in condensed matter, analytically or numerically.

This special position is not part of the usual CNRS competition but is a tenure-track position aimed at researchers with a significant research record in the scientific domain (the net monthly salary will be approximatively between 3 200 euros and 3 500 euros depending on experience). It is endowed with an ANR package of 200 000 euros and it is projected to lead to a permanent position of CNRS Senior Researcher (research director, DR2 at CNRS) after 3 to 6 years following a positive evaluation by a tenure commission. It also includes 42 hours of teaching (in English or French) per year before tenure. The position will be attached to one of the four following laboratories in France: LPTMC Paris, LPTMS Saclay, LPS Saclay or IDP Orléans-Tours.
