You are expected to arrive Monday afternoon at the les Houches Center of Physics. Here are the following ways to get to the school, also available on the Les Houches site.

By plane

Two busses will be arranged at 14.00 and at 17.00 to drive the participants directly from the airport to the Centre de Physique, with no additionnal charge. The bus will wait in the busses area at the airport. When in the international arrival hall, get out of the airport and walk straight foreward. You should pass the taxis area. The busses area is indicated as "gare routière" and is the same as the regular busses. The bus will wait there and "QGLD 2003" will be indicated on it. If you are lost, ask the "guichet gare routière" in the international arrival hall.

Geneva Airport is 1 hour drive from les Houches.

There is a regular bus service between Geneva and Les Houches (only once or twice a day): http://www.coach-station.com

We also study the possibility to organize a common bus from the airport to the school directly. Information will be available as soon as possible on the web site.

By train

Two busses will be arranged at 14.30 and at 17.30 to drive you directly to the Centre of physics. You will find the bus under the bridge, next to the TPG stop (regular busses). "QGLD 2003" will be indicated on it.

Arrival at the Les Houches station, with one change at Saint-Gervais (from France), or at Martigny (from Switzerland). There are about 10 trains per day between St Gervais and Les Houches: http://www.sncf.fr
Then we strongly advise you to take a taxi (tel. +33 -4-50 54 41 76 or +33 -4-50 54 41 09) to go up to the school (5km).

By car

Les Houches are easily accessible from France (A41 highway), from Switzerland (Martigny and Col des Montets) and from Italy through the Mont-Blanc Tunnel.

From Geneva and Le Fayet: 8 km before Chamonix, 300 m after passing under the tunnel, bear right by the first road out for "Les Houches Bellevue". When arriving at the cable car station "Bellevue", turn right and continue upwards (roughly 2 km starting from the teleferic). 500 m after the cable car station "Prarion", turn left and follow small arrows at crossroads. Continue up to the end of Route de la Côte des Chavants. Here you are!

From Chamonix: bear right for "Les Houches-Chef-Lieu", turn right in Les Houches, go ahead at the cable car station "Bellevue". Then proceed as above.

Cars may be rented from Geneva and from Chamonix, but it is useful to make reservations.
